My Story
Hi, Iām Alice and it is an utter privilege to have you here with me, sharing my story. My flower growing and floristry journey has evolved over the last three years. What stemmed from a therapeutic release from my delightfully chaotic and busy life of a working mother of two wonderful young children is blossoming into a successful and enriching endeavour.
In the darkest of times, during the Covid pandemic, my family and I were fortunate enough to discover a sense of calm fulfilment growing from seeds vegetables and flowers, to act as an outlet for our energies, and to lift our spirits and sustain us. It soon became clear to me how much pure and natural joy the simple process of igniting life from some humble seeds was bringing to our lives, unifying us and rooting us further together as a family in this shared happiness.
Our flowers became our way of safely connecting us with our loved ones, with us arranging bouquets of our homegrown blooms and leaving them on the doorsteps of those dearest to us. Again, I was reminded of how powerful nature was in acting as a vessel to show someone how valued they were by us. And so began my journey as a self-taught flower grower and florist.
Over the last year or so, I have had the joy of hosting many seasonal workshops, such as our ever popular Christmas wreath events, held across a variety of venues as well as our Spring and Summer workshops delivered in our own orchard. We have built a network of local supporters, supplying affordable and sustainable stunning arrangements sold in our local farm shop as well as selling directly to customers through word of mouth and our social media. I have also had the honour of hand growing and arranging flowers for a selection of local weddings, which has been the most incredible and humbling experience.

About the Orchard
Nestled in the beautiful Mid Devon village of Thorverton, our delightful little orchard is tucked away, hidden amongst the beautiful countryside. Home to a vibrant medley of natural beauties including a variety of fruit trees, such as plum, pear and apple; blackberry, strawberry, raspberry and loganberry bushes, as well as my pride and joy, the cutting garden. Here you will find blooms including (but not exclusively) Nigella, Cosmos, Dahlias, Zinnias, Sweet peas, Tulips as well as a selection of foliage - blooms from all seasons. We also use the orchard as a base for many of our wonderful workshops, from seed sowing in the Spring, to Summer hand tied bouquets and arrangement workshops.
